In a heavy rain event, please remember to “turn around, don’t drown.” Never drive through flooded waters, as you don’t know what is underneath you, as you can see from the photos of damaged roads from the Christmas Eve flooding in Carroll County. Per the National Weather Service, 12-inches of water can float your vehicle, and 2 feet can carry your vehicle (even trucks) downstream. It is not worth the risk.
Thanks very much to the county and city public safety and public works employees for responding quickly to the flooding event and working over the holiday weekend.
