Juvenile Court
Carroll County Juvenile Court exercises jurisdiction over delinquent and unruly children 17 and under in need of rehabilitation; traffic cases for children 16 and under and deprived and neglected children. The Juvenile court also hears some custody cases that are transferred from Superior Court. Usually relating to cases as to which the Juvenile Court has already exercised jurisdiction. It also hears transfers from Probate Court involving contested guardianship. The delinquent cases involve most of the same types of cases as are heard in state and Superior Court. The deprivation cases involve these filed by the Department of Family and Children Services as well as private filings.
The Carroll County Juvenile Court is open Monday through Friday from 8AM to 5PM. The court is currently located at 166 Independence Drive, Carrollton.
