Board of Commissioners
Carroll County is governed by a board of commissioners, the primary policy-making body of the county. The board consists of a full-time chairman and six part-time commissioners representing the different districts of the county. While the full commission retains ultimate executive responsibility, day-to-day executive duties are performed by the chairman. The chairman is elected countywide every four years. District commissioners are elected to staggered terms of four years each, with three of the six being elected by district every two years.
MEETING SCHEDULE
Effective September 1, 2001, the commission will meet in regular session on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of the David Perry County Administration Building, located at 423 College Street, Carrollton. POWERS AND AUTHORITY
The Board of Commissioners has the power and authority to fix and establish policies, rules, and regulations governing the county. Policy directives are implemented by the full-time chairman, who directs day-to-day county operations through department heads and support staff.
