This is to formally notify the Carroll County Board of Commissioners that Carroll County Juvenile Wellness Court did apply for the 2012 fiscal year Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant in the amount of $31,815 to continue funding for the Juvenile Wellness Court Program. The deadline for the application was June 10, 2012. The county was awarded the amount applied for in September of 2012.

Emergency Outdoor Warning Siren Test This Week
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Management Agency in conjunction with E-911 will conduct the monthly scheduled test of its Emergency Warning Siren System this week.
WHAT: Emergency Outdoor Warning Siren Test
WHEN: Wednesday May 6, 2015, 12 p.m.
WHERE: Carroll County, Georgia
At noon on Wednesday, Carroll County residents will hear a one minute emergency tone from the various sirens located throughout the county. This monthly test is necessary to ensure that the Emergency Warning Siren System is functioning properly.
In the event of poor weather conditions such as rain or overcast weather, the siren test will be cancelled and rescheduled.

The Board of Commissioners Meeting for April 7, 2015 has been cancelled, along with its regularly scheduled work session on April 2nd. The Planning and Zoning Commission cases for March 24th AND April 28th will be heard by the Board of Commissioners at the May 5, 2015 Meeting for a final decision.

Carroll County is sad to lose Leslie Robinson, Elections Supervisor, who is leaving to work for her church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. We are thankful for her service and wish her the best in her new career.
The Board has appointed Greg Rigby as the new Supervisor of Elections and Registration for Carroll County. Rigby has served in Douglas County since 2011 and is currently Deputy Supervisor there. Rigby began his elections career as a Poll Worker and through the years has worked in every aspect of Voter Registration and Elections Management. He has served since 2008 as a Technician for Voting Equipment, conducted Logic and Accuracy testing, managed the machine inventory and directed the count team for election compilation. He is a state certified Election Official and a member of both the Georgia Association of Election Officials and the Voter Registrars of Association of Georgia.
His wife of 35 years is Joni Rigby of Douglasville. Together they have a son, a daughter, and one grandson. Greg is active in church music and enjoys all adventure sports and traveling with his wife.
Greg is looking forward to serving the voters of Carroll County with the most accurate, open and honest elections he and all his team can provide. Welcome Greg!
