[ARCHIVED] Slow Start To Early Voting

One week into early voting for the May 24 primary in Carroll County, Election Supervisor, Greg Rigby reports a slow start.

At the end of early voting Friday, only 396 of the county's more than 51,000 registered voters had cast ballots.

It is a disappointing start considering this year's general primary will decide several key races on the state and local level. The May 24 election will also decide winners of the nonpartisan races.

With so much at stake, Carroll County voters are encouraged to participate in the primary! Early voting continues daily 8 am - 5 pm through May 20 at the Elections Office, 423 College St, Carrollton and Saturday, 9 am - 4 pm May 14. The last week May 16-20 an additional location will be open for early voting 8 am -5 pm, Powell Parks Arts Center, 424 Leslie Drive, Villa Rica.

Rigby encourages voters to visit My Voter Page at www.mvp.sos.ga.gov to confirm their registration status, view sample ballots, or locate their Election Day precinct.
