District 4 Commissioner

This is Michelle's 1st term to serve on the Carroll County Board of Commissioners representing the citizens of District 4.

Michelle Morgan has been the Human Resources Manager for Morgan Oil Company, a family business with locations across West Georgia, for the past 20 years. In her role, Michelle conducts employee educational programs, maintains the employee health benefit plan, and reviews and updates the policies and procedures manual.

Prior to Morgan Oil Company, she co-owned A Likely Story Book Center, Inc. which she opened shortly after graduation from the University of West Georgia.

Michelle is a graduate of the University of West Georgia (UWG) with both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Business Administration.

She received both the University's National Alumni Association Distinguished Service Award and the Thelma Harmon Loyalty Award. For 2015, she has been selected as the Executive In Residence for the Richards College of Business.

Committed to giving back, Michelle has spent years serving our community. Michelle has been active in the:

  • Community Foundation of West Georgia
  • Council on Aging
  • Friends of the Library
  • Get Healthy Live Well West Georgia
  • Keep Carroll Beautiful
  • The Spade and Trowel Garden Club

Through the years, Michelle has remained involved in supporting UWG. She and her husband, Jimmy, endow a Morgan Oil Company Scholarship that to date has assisted over fifteen of their employees in getting a degree. Michelle also served as a UWG Foundation Trustee from 2006 to 2013. She is past-President of the Penelope Melson Library Society and has chaired Live Art for the Townsend Center. Jimmy and Michelle have been Co-Chairs of ADAY for UWG.

Michelle serves as the Chairman of the Board of Communities in School of Carrollton City and Carroll County School Systems which works to increase high school graduation rates.

Michelle has been an active leader in the Carrollton GreenBelt for which she helped secure a grant of over $11,000 from BP Fueling Communities and with Morgan Oil's employees sponsors the annual GreenBelt 5K.

She is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta International Fraternity and has served as Trustee for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation.

Michelle is married to Carrollton native, Jimmy Morgan. They have 3 children, Patrick, Michael, and Elizabeth. They also have a standard poodle named Caesar. The Morgans are active members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
