District 1 Commissioner

Carrollton native Trent North is serving his 5th term as Commissioner.

North is Director of Community Affairs and Program Compliance for the Carrollton City School System. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of West Georgia, a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Georgia, and a Specialist in Education Degree from Lincoln Memorial University.

Committed to giving back, Trent has spent years serving our community. He has been actively involved as:

  • Board member of the Real Estate Foundation Board of the University of West Georgia
  • Board member of the Tanner Medical Foundation Board of Trustees
  • Board member of the University of West Georgia Foundation Board of Trustees
  • Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Carrollton's Men Home
  • Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church
  • Chairman of the West Carrollton Enterprise Zone
  • Member of Rotary, a Charter member of Black Men Encouraging Success Today (BEST)
  • Member of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce
  • Member of the Coweta Judicial Circuit Public Defender Selection Panel.
  • Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)

North's professional memberships include:

North has been published five times in periodicals and local academic journals. He is the Author of Forensic Leadership, Changing the Culture of a Nation.
